For a first visit, start from the general entrance on Xinyi Road to the south. This is a planning sequence, not a navigation line; follow on-site signs if events, maintenance or closures change access.

The historic Luodong terminal of the Taipingshan forest railway; check whether its indoor space is open.
Unloading platform
This structure linked arriving timber with the log pond and makes most sense when viewed together with the waterfront.
Japanese-era wooden buildings and Time Corridor
Former dormitories and longhouses show the scale of forestry life; some now host exhibits, woodcraft or rest spaces.
The park in three moments
1924
In 1924, the Luodong forestry yard and railway became a major distribution endpoint for Taipingshan timber.
1979–1982
The forest railway stopped in 1979, and logging production wound down by 1982.
2009–2012
The site opened to visitors in 2009 and was registered as the Luodong Forestry Yard cultural landscape in 2012.
Indoor halls and family facilities
Most halls use morning and afternoon sessions and have their own closure days. The outdoor opening hours do not mean that every indoor space is open.
Typical hall sessions are 09:00–12:00 and 13:30–17:00, but activities may alter them. Individual halls may use a live 20-person capacity limit.

Forestry KIDS House (林場 KIDS 扣屋)
It runs four 40-minute sessions from Wednesday to Sunday rather than staying continuously open.

Forest Movement Hall may adjust access around exhibition work; check the day’s hall notice before visiting.
Getting there and parking
The park is walkable from Luodong Station. Drivers on a first visit should navigate to the southern parking area. The north has a trail and service spaces, but it is not the same arrival point.

Leave from the TRA station’s front exit and walk about 1 km; the official estimate is 20–25 minutes. Luodong Bus Station and the railway station are separate places.
Driving and the general entrance
First-time drivers can follow the official overview to the southern Xinyi Road side, then use current parking and circulation signs on arrival.

The Chinese park overview currently gives the following baseline. Weekday, holiday and billing rules may change, so check the latest parking information.

Before you go
The grounds are generally gentle, but heritage surfaces, weather and hall rules still affect a visit.
With children
The outdoor train and pond are easy to combine. For KIDS House, choose a session and allow time to check in; supervise children beside the pond and rails.
With pets
Pets may use outdoor areas when leashed or secured in a carrier, bag or stroller, and waste must be removed. Each indoor hall sets its own rule.
Rainy days
Open halls can support a rainy-day visit, but woodchip paths, rails and pond edges may be slippery, so shorten the outdoor section.
Older visitors and mobility needs
Main outdoor areas are relatively level and some accessible facilities are provided. Historic thresholds, woodchip surfaces and hall layouts vary, so the entire park should not be treated as fully step-free.
