Wushi Harbor Surfskate Park: a first-visit guide
Near Wai'ao and Wushi Harbor's north breakwater, this land-based surf course uses flowing concrete curves to simulate turns on a wave. Use this guide for the layout, first-session safety, access and nearby stops.
Its project name is Wai'ao Surfskate Park; maps may also label it Wushi Harbor Surfskate Park.

Understand the movement
How is it different from a regular skatepark?
The focus is not stairs or rails. Riders shift their weight through connected curves to practise weighted turns (carving) and return turns (cutbacks).
Surfskate park
Built around continuous curves, turning and weight transfer; riders need to coordinate their lines with others.
Street-style skatepark
More likely to feature stairs, rails, ledges and trick practice, with a different rhythm of use.
Ocean surfing
Depends on swell, tides and sea conditions. Land practice never replaces judgement in the water.

How to read the park
The park has curved wave walls at both ends, a linear rolling track in the middle, and grass, planting and paths around the riding space. On a first visit, watch the flow from outside before starting in a wider area where speed is easier to control.

A sequence of rises and dips links the ends and supports controlled speed and stable weight transfer.
Grass, planting and paths
These separate riders from perimeter foot traffic. Observers should stay out of riding lines.

Watch the direction, speed and other riders before entering, and never cut across an occupied line.

Gear up and inspect the surface
A helmet and pads are recommended. Check that the concrete is dry and clean and that your board is sound.

Choose a wider, gentler area to practise balance, slowing down and controlled turns.

Pause when conditions are poor
Do not ride on a wet, sandy, salty or waterlogged surface, or when the park is too crowded.

Between Wushi Harbor's north breakwater and the Wai'ao coast
The park sits in the planted strip west of Gangkou Road, with the coast to the east. The map button points to the park itself.

Navigate to the park first. Dedicated parking has not been established here, so park only where road and on-site signs permit.
Traffic can move quickly on Provincial Highway 2 and harbor roads. If a continuous pedestrian space or safe crossing is missing, choose a safer route instead of forcing the crossing.

Make the park the anchor, then add one or two stops according to weather and your group rather than packing in the whole coast.

Walk by the harbor and look out to sea, while staying clear of controlled areas and hazardous water.

Yes. Both names refer to the same park. Map listings most often use Wushi Harbor Surfskate Park, but Wai'ao Surfskate Park may also appear.
Can a first-time surfskater use the park?
Start by observing from outside. Before entering, be able to balance, slow down and turn under control, and begin where there is more room.
Is there an entry fee?

Can I rent a board or protective gear there?
Do not assume rentals are available. Bringing your own suitable board and properly fitted gear is the safer plan.

How do I walk from Wushi Harbor Transfer Station or Wai'ao Station?
It is about 900 m and 12 minutes from the transfer station, or about 1.7 km and 23 minutes from Wai'ao Station. Pedestrian space near Highway 2 can be discontinuous, so adjust at safe crossings.
